Michelin Maps

I.G.N. maps give the most detailed coverage of France. Michelin maps cover main road networks and regions and probably suit most travellers best.

Regular travellers to France would agree that Michelin maps are among the best motoring maps available. The 51-90 Series maps (smaller areas) and the 230-245 Series maps (larger coverage) are useful and popular.

If you want a comprehensive coverage of France, however, the best buy is the Michelin Tourist and Motoring Atlas of France. This contains the same maps in a single book (paperback, spiral-bound or hardback). It also includes an enlarged section of the Paris area, 50 town and city plans, an index and various other information. The spiral bound version, which is well-constructed, durable and folds out flat for ease of use whilst driving is recommended when driving in France on the basis of quality, accuracy and value for money.

51-90 Series Maps

The 51-90 Series are small (110cm x 50cm) and ideal if you want a handy detailed map of a limited area.

230-245 Series Maps.

For larger coverage (for driving down to the South-West from the U.K., for example), the 230-245 Series are a better buy. They are of the same scale but cover twice the area.
