The Harbour Museum (Musée Portuaire), 9, Quai de la Citadelle, 59140, Dunkirk. Tel: 0033 328 63 33 39. Housed in a fromer tobacco warehouse dating from 1850 it depicts the past and present activities of Dunkerque's harbour. Open: Daily except Tuesday and Public Holidays from 10.00am - 12.45pm, 1.30 - 6.00pm (10.00am - 6.00pm in July and August).

Tall ship - "Duchesse Anne" - the only tall ship open to the public in France. Opposite the Harbour Museum. Visit times from Museum information.

Dunkirk walks - "Circuits".

A very good way to enjoy this area is by walking. The local Tourist office has a number of suggested walks on it's web site. Look for "Walks, tours and excursions" and try some of the circuits. We enjoyed the Gravelines (a nearby town with a well preserved Vauban fort) walks recently. www.dunkirk-tourism.com
