The 2012 route was due to be announced 18th October 2011, but due to a slip up became known about on the 10th. In 2012 The tour de Frnace will visit Boulogne sur Mer, Rouen and Epernay in Champagne.

Before the official start, the floats of the sponsors pass by, with free gifts being thrown to the crowds nearby. This poor man, dressed as a biscuit, amused us. The float with male strippers received a loud cheer from some sections of the crowd.
