This company is exanding rapidly with many new cross channel services starting.
LD Lines' service now operates into Boulogne's new Hub Port terminal, whose rapidly expanding port facilities and infrastructure will also provide increased freight and tourist traffic capacity which Norman Spirit can carry.
June 2010 - More Boulogne sailings. There are now up to 14 daily crossings to Boulogne.
March 2010 - The "Norman Arrow" fast ferry will operate from Portsmouth to Le Havre from the 26th for six months. The crossing time is just three hours 15 minutes with fares from £109 single (car plus two). The number of sialing per day on the Ramsgate to Ostende route has been increased to four.
November 2009 - The "Norman Express" fast ferry has being replaced with the conventional ferry "Norman Spirit". The new crossing time will be 1 hour 45 minutes.
The introduction of the ship will considerably increase freight and tourist traffic capacity on LD Lines' Dover to Boulogne service.
The "Norman Express" will be used on the Portsmouth Le Havre route from April to September 2010.
September 2009 - New terminal in Boulogne. The new terminal whcih should mean quicker loading and unloading is now operational. Check the website for directions.
Rosslare to Cherbourg route now operating in partnership with Celtic Ferries.
Starting 19th September. LD Lines is switching French destinations served from Rosslare. Currently the ferry sails to Le Havre, but from 19th September it will go to Cherbourg instead. There will be an increase in frequency and shorter crossing times. The 800-passenger Norman Voyager will operate the new service, providing six return sailings a week with a crossing time of 17 hours, compared to the previous 22 hours Le Havre journey duration. The newly built Norman Voyager was introduced by LD Lines in November onto Portsmouth - Le Havre/Le Havre - Rosslare services. It will be replaced by the LD/Transmanche Ferries Cote d'Albatre as a second ship on thePortsmouth -Le Havre route.
Routes;
Portsmouth to Le Havre. In 2010, Norman Arrow will operate a six month seasonal schedule from Easter to September on the Portsmouth - Le Havre route, alongside the year-round conventional ferry Cote d'Albatre. Operating on the Western Channel route, the "Norman Arrow" will considerably reduce crossing times between Portsmouth and Le Havre to three hours 15 minutes compared to conventional ferry crossing times of five hours 30 minutes (day sailings) and eight hours (night sailings).
Dieppe from Newhaven. The LD / Transmanche Ferries service between Newhaven and Dieppe is operated by the vessel Seven Sisters, providing two return sailings daily with a crossing time of four hours.
Boulogne from Dover (started 12th February 2009). Four return sailings a day. Journey time 1 hour 45 minutes.
Cherbourg to Rosslare (Eire). Now run by Celtic Link Ferries.
Ramsgate to Ostende (with Transeuropa Ferries).
