SpeedFerries is extremely honoured to once again, have been voted ‘Best Ferry Company’ by the readers of The Guardian, The Observer and Guardian Unlimited in their 21st Travel Awards. The scoring of these awards is designed to reward quality, rather than quantity. So it is not surprising, therefore, that SpeedFerries, a small family run company, has outstripped the stiffest competition from longestablished rivals in the industry throughout the UK.

SpeedFerries Keeps its Promise to Motorcyclists!

Earlier this year, much to the frustration of a large number of the U.K.’s motorcycling public; SpeedFerries was forced to announce it could no-longer carry motorcycles on its fast craft service from Dover – Boulogne. As a ‘low cost’, fast ferry company, it is essential that SpeedFerries maintain a tight schedule and this includes a fast turn-around in port. Too much time was required to securely lash motorcycles onboard – which was not only affecting its schedule, the lashings were not secure enough to prevent numerous and expensive damage claims.
SpeedFerries promised it would continue to source a solution to this problem that would enable the company to welcome back motorcyclists in the future.
Determined to keep its promise, SpeedFerries carried out a global search to find a solution that was ultimately found back here in the U.K.. Hitchlugger, a small niche company, was founded by motorcycle enthusiast Geoffrey Kendall. Having grown his business by making Motorcycle Carriers for other enthusiasts, Geoffrey was delighted to come to Dover and adapt his product for SpeedOne. Ideally suited for the fast craft, the carrier enables motorcycles to be stowed speedily and securely during all weathers.
SpeedFerries is delighted to be the first ferry operator to adopt this system onboard SpeedOne and welcome back its much missed motorcyclists.
The first four motorcycle carriers will be installed for use 5 November 2007 with a view to installing additional systems to meet demand. Available to book online now!

SpeedFerries Introduces New Ticket and Pricing System

Low cost fast ferry operator SpeedFerries entered the market in May 2004, and has had a dramatic effect on the cross-Channel ferry market. Following the launch of the Dover-Boulogne service, ticket prices on the Dover Strait have been reduced by more than 50 percent to the benefit of all cross-Channel Travellers.

Following the recent take-over of the Dover Hoverport, SpeedFerries now has exclusive ports on both sides of the Dover Strait. As a result SpeedFerries is now ready to take the first step towards a new and even more fair ticket and pricing system introduced on the basis of customer demand.

The new ticket and voucher categories offer tailor made travel for all customers.
• BASIC Tickets are available at a very low cost for customers with set travel dates.
• FLEX Tickets are available for customers who may need to change their ticket at a later stage
• SUPER Vouchers are unique offers for frequent travellers crossing the Channel several times a year. The vouchers offer full flexibility at a fixed low price. The larger the voucher you buy, the more you save.

SpeedFerries also introduces new improved services, such as priority check-in, separate lanes and priority loading to PremierClass and SuperVoucher customers in both exclusive ports.

SpeedFerries offers 15,000 new tickets and vouchers to its customers at a special reduced introduction price.

6-Trip SUPER Voucher at £144 for a std car + 5 – fixed price of £24 per crossing for 2 years
12-Trip SUPER Voucher at £264 for a std car + 5 – fixed price of £22 per crossing for 2 years
18-Trip SUPER Voucher at £342 for a std car + 5 – fixed price of £19 per crossing for 2 years
The voucher tickets are fully amendable and the ticket price remains the same even if the customer wishes to travel on the most expensive peak sailing. Priority check-in, separate lanes and priority loading are included on all voucher tickets. For travel before 1 July 2007, the 12-Trip and 18-Trip voucher tickets will include a free upgrade to Premier Class.

BASIC Ticket from £15 one-way for a standard car + 5
The BASIC ticket is available from £15 one-way, but is NOT amendable. This ticket is only valid for the booked travel dates and can NOT subsequently be changed, parked or moved. It is however possible to change passenger and car details subject to a change of booking fee.

FLEX Ticket from £20 one-way for a standard car + 5
The FLEX ticket is available from £20 one-way and amendable subject to a change of booking fee and any possible price difference between the original price paid and the price for the new desired departure. This ticket can also be parked for later use.

The offer is limited and prices will increase when the allocated number of tickets is sold out or on 21 March 2007 at the latest.

SpeedFerries celebrates the take over of its new port facilities in Dover

Award wining fast ferry operator SpeedFerries, has signed a four-year lease on part of the old Hoverport at Dover’s Western Docks, previously used by Hoverspeed. SpeedFerries have already commenced a program of preparation and refurbishment of the site and hope to start operating from the Hoverport before Easter 2007.

Following the forthcoming move, SpeedFerries will be the only Dover based ferry operator to offer exclusive port facilities at both its Channel ports, Dover and Boulogne. Customers will be able to access the exclusive SpeedFerries facilities at the Hoverport without passing through Dover and will avoid the heavy traffic in and around the Eastern Docks. As with Boulogne port, SpeedFerries will be offering shopping & catering facilities in Dover as well as easy access to an exclusive SpeedFerries check-in area.
