February 2013 - Prices up again (tax increases and due to the exchange rate). In Belgium Golden Virginia now costs £4.95 (Luxembourg £4.95), and Benson & Hedges Gold £43.00 (Luxembourg £39.00).
Cigarettes tobacco are much cheaper in Luxembourg, because VAT rates are lower and there are lower excise duties. Route 66 was one of the first shops catering to the British Shopper, and just over the border at exit 1 on the E25 Autoroute (just after it enters Luxembourg from Belgium).

Luxembourg has lower excise duties on wine and champagne. Its beer and spirit rates are lower too. Whilst it is further to travel to, savings made on purchases more than outweigh the extra costs involved.
Follow the E42 autoroute till Brussels, then take the ring road following the signs for Namur – Luxembourg (E25/E411). Thereafter take the E25 / E411 to Luxembourg.
We are close to exit Number 1 immediately after you cross the border – couldn't be closer!
